JOHANNESBURG, December 2 – The five African countries who have qualified for World Cup Russia 2018 will get substantial financial assistance as they prepare for soccer’s showpiece.
The Confederation of African football (CAF) decided at a recent meeting to award $500 000 (R6 855 650) to help Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia in the build-up to the tournament.
The CAF Executive Committee met in Moscow, Russia, on the sidelines of the draw for the FIFA World Cup on Friday
CAF’s financial package will be used mainly to strengthen and improve the technical supervision of each team.
In addition, CAF will provide each African representative with “fieldwiz” equipment, a technological device and physical performance measuring tool for outdoor team sports players.
