Woman arrested for allegedly stabbing uncle to death at Grootfontein


OTJIWARONGO, 25 MAY – A 35-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her uncle to death during an argument in Grootfontein on Thursday.

The 37-year-old Leo Tsose, who was a soldier at the Grootfontein Military Base, had been arguing with his niece when she allegedly pulled out a traditional knife and stabbed him in the chest.

She allegedly also stabbed Tsose’s girlfriend on the mouth. Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha said in an interview with Nampa on Friday the incident occurred around 19h20 in Swakop Street.

“The man died on the spot and the suspect was arrested there,” she said.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Grootfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Police investigations continue.
