Three dead, one injured in shooting in Tembisa

JOHANNESBURG, July 11 – Three people were killed and another seriously injured Wednesday following a shooting incident outside a shop on Second October Street in Tembisa, on Gauteng’s East Rand, private paramedic service ER24 said in a statement.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics, along with the Provincial Services, arrived on the scene at 13h50 to find a taxi parked outside a small shop.

“The bodies of two men were found lying in the taxi while a third was found lying a few meters away.”

Meiring said the patients were assessed and found that they had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life.

“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.”

Meiring said a fourth man was treated and transported by the Provincial Services to a nearby hospital.

“The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
