SA’s consumer inflation slows to 4.6%


JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South Africa’s headline consumer inflation slowed to 4.6 percent year-on-year in November from 4.8 percent in October, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis, inflation slowed to 0.1 percent in November from 0.3 percent in October.

Core inflation, which excludes the prices of food, non-alcoholic beverages, petrol and energy, fell to 4.4 percent year-on-year in November from 4.5 percent in October, while on a month-on-month basis it slowed to 0.0 percent from 0.1 percent previously.
