Mpumalanga cop and husband killed in attack, manhunt launched


JOHANNESBURG, December 3 – Police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for two men who allegedly attacked and killed Sergeant Thembisile Ndlovu and her husband at their home near Bushbuckridge.

Spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the incident happened on Saturday.

“Sergeant Thembisile Ndlovu, 42, and her husband Jabulani Ndlovu were asleep in their house at Angin Court, near Bushbuckridge when they were suddenly attacked by three unknown men who gained entry through a window,” said Hlathi.

“Once inside, a shootout ensued and Ndlovu managed to shoot one of the attackers who died on the scene. The other two suspects fired at the couple, instantly killing the Sergeant.”

Her husband was rushed to the hospital and later succumbed to his wounds. The suspects made off with the couple’s vehicle which was later recovered within the Bushbuckridge area.

No arrests have been made. (ANA)
