A 16-year-old boy was stabbed-and-killed this morning outside of a school in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg.
ER24 said assessments showed that the patient had sustained a stab wound to his chest and showed no signs of life.
“CPR and treatment were immediately initiated, in an effort to revive the patient. Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned, and he was declared dead by another service.
“The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” it said.
Police officials, including a pathologist were on Wednesday morning examining the scene.
The learner was allegedly walking to school when the incident occurred.
Gauteng MEC of Education Panyaza Lesufi, as well as Mondeor police station officers, were also on the scene.
Exact details surrounding the incident are not yet known.
